Notes:
The Recording:  I'm reasonably sure that this was originally taken from
a soundboard as there is hardly an audience noise at all. This CDR was
obviously transfered from a vinyl copy. There is a bit of tape hiss and
you can hear a few 'clicks' and 'pops' that are definately from vinyl.
There are a few odd edits. My own vinyl copy, other than having bonus
'clicks and pops' sounds the same. All of this aside, this recording
is well worth listening to.

The Show:  Would you believe I was there? I surely was....only a few
miles away, that is. I was only 8.5 years old at the time and had no
idea who Janis Joplin was. If I had only known, and of course, been
able to talk my parents into taking me....yeah, right! OK, fantasy time
is over.
  It sounds to me like Janis had, shall we say, had a nip, or three.
She had a bit of fun with the crowd here and there and at the end she had
a little fun with the MC as well. I love listening to Janis sing, but the
'chatter' on this recording makes it a real gem. I wish I had the original
tape handy.....hell, I wish I had been at the show!
